Foreign Service Institute enhancing skills of diplomats from CARICOM countries

Ambassdor J.S. Mukul, Dean, Foreign Service Institute inaugurated a special training programme for diplomats from CARICOM countries today at Foreign Service Institute. The two-week course is being attended by 23 diplomats from Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Guyana, Rwanda, Haiti, St. Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Suriname, CARICOM Secretariat and OECS Secretariat.

The training program is part of India’s policy of imparting skills and sharing best practices with partner countries under the framework of South-South Cooperation. The expenses on the training are borne by Government of India.

Foreign Service Institute set up by the Ministry of External Affairs in 1986, is a premier diplomatic training Institute in the country serving the training needs of Indian officials and personnel, as well as foreign diplomats.
