1st Special Course for Diplomats from the Timor Leste and 2nd Special Course for Diplomats from Dominican Republic

The 1st Special Course for Diplomats from Timor Leste and 2nd Special Course for Diplomats from Dominican Republic is being held at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) from 20 Sep – 29 Sep 2023. Twenty-one diplomats from Dominican Republic and twelve diplomats from Timor Leste are participating in this course.

The Special Course was inaugurated on 20 September 2023 by Shri Gaddam Dharmendra, Dean (SSIFS) in the presence of H.E. Mr. David Puig, Ambassador of Dominican Republic to India.  A warm welcome was extended to the participants. The Special Course is in line with the warm and friendly bilateral relations of India with Dominican Republic and Timor Leste. 

Recent Ministerial visits and bilateral cooperation programmes have imparted momentum to the relations between India and Dominican Republic.

Bilateral relations between India and Timor Leste are expanding in a wide range of areas including health, education, Information Technology, culture and development partnership.  

The Special Course would include modules on global issues, bilateral relations, India’s Foreign Policy; Overview of India’s e-Governance platforms; Climate Change and LiFE; development partnership & cooperation; and Holistic Healthcare with a focus on Ayurveda and Yoga. The participating diplomats would be visiting the International Solar Alliance Secretariat, the All India Institute for Ayurveda, the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Confederation of Indian Industry, Pradhanmantri Sanghralaya and National Museum.
